VA Annie RPGHD Implementation Guide

Overview

This Implementation Guide defines FHIR profiles for Annie patient-generated health data (PGHD) integration with the VA's Remote Patient Monitoring and Health Data (RPGHD) system.

Purpose

The VA Annie RPGHD IG provides standardized FHIR profiles for ingesting self-reported health data from the Annie app into VA systems. Annie is a VA self-management tool where veterans manually enter health observations.

Key Features

• Extends VA PGHD Governance: All profiles inherit base governance constraints
• Annie-Specific Tracking: Source UUID metadata for Annie app identification
• Self-Reported Data: All observations use effectiveDateTime (manual entry, not device-generated)
• 10 Observation Profiles: Covering vital signs, blood glucose, caloric intake, and exercise

Profile Hierarchy

Profiles in this IG extend either US Core profiles (for vital signs) or the VA Annie Observation Base profile (for other observations). All profiles inherit VA PGHD governance validation constraints.
